Process- and Drinkingwater Supply
For the preparation of potable water, we use technologies like LHPS, BAF and/or SMF as well as disinfection, depending on the raw water quality.
Standard are latest guidelines by WHO 2011 as well as local standards. Similar technologies are applied for the preparation of process water, necessary in any industrial process.
Sugar Factory Wastewater Treatment
Sugar beets are the main source of sugar in northern countries. Usually, beets are washed, cut into pieces and boiled out. The liquid with the sugar is evaporated. Consequently, highly concentrated washing waters with CODs between 5 and 30 g/L COD and medium concentrated condensates occur for treatment. BHU has a wide know-how for the treatment of theses streams.
Municipal Sludge Treatment
Sludge from municipal wastewater treatment is a major global issue. Agricutural application is more and more hindered by tight limits for heavy metals, persistent organic compounds or even pathogenic germs. Common sludge incineration goes along with high costs for heating, drying and combustion. The StR-Process is a recently developped approach combining different well established technologies.
Activities in China
Actually the Chinese market offers the highest market potential for the technologies of BHU. BHU Umwelttechnik GmbH works as technological partner to local general contractors, water management companies and design institutes. The increasingly tightened water release limits in China combined with the low available space for water systems is complying with our process technology.
