Wastewater Treatment and Polishing
Every wastewater stream exceeding local discharge standards has to be purified. The aim is that local environment is not affected. BHU supplies all necessary technologie treating any wastewater to any discharge limits.
For the oil industry and refinieries, High Performance Deoiling Unit (HDPU) and Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) are applied, removing oil and grease.
In steel- and ironindustry, chemical physical treatment will remove heavy metals and arsenate.
Pulp&Paper as well as food industry discharges highly concentrated organically loaded effluents. Here, anaerobic treatment is the best option.
Usually any industrie will use biological treatment (BIO) prior to discharge of wastewater. Toxic wastewater streams in the chemical industry will be detoxified by wet chemical oxidation (OXI). For tight discharge standards, additional treatment like adsorption on activated carbon, biologically activated filtration (BAF) can be applied.
Recycling reduces liquid discharge, while the concentration of pollution is usually increasing. This can reach pure salt, when zero liquid discharge is required.
